We stayed two nights at Rabbi Block’s home for Shabbos. He’s been serving the San Antonio community for 38 years. Both he and his wife are amazingly gracious hosts, with many guests around the table of their enormous dining room. The gated shul / school is a beautiful 11 year old building (with a huge swimming pool and playground outdoor back) on Blanco Rd. They had full-time security out front. The congregation was very welcoming, and I experienced a delightful shalos seudas here, complete with sushi.
